She is assembling centuries of tradition into a logical progression of techniques and styles, and charting stitch patterns into a visual representation that is becoming The Museum of Knitting.

The Museum of Knitting brings together hundreds of hand-knitting patterns from around the world and across history, all carefully transcribed using a standardized notation system. This unique approach transforms a vast and diverse archive of knitting patterns into a single, easy-to-navigate resource, making it accessible for knitters of all skill levels to explore and enjoy.
Lisl Fanderl presented this pattern as she found it on a traditional Bavarian stocking cuff, and you’re welcome to apply these knits and purls wherever you see fit, working it in rounds as per the original or back-and-forth in rebellious attitude
