Apryl Zarfos Anderson received her Knitting Guild of America Hand Knitter Master diploma in 2018, and continues her research in the evolution of stitches. She is assembling centuries of tradition into a logical progression of techniques and styles, and charting stitch patterns into a visual representation that is becoming The Museum of Knitting.
ABOUT
About the Museum of Knitting
The Museum of Knitting brings together hundreds of hand-knitting patterns from around the world and across history, all carefully transcribed using a standardized notation system. This unique approach transforms a vast and diverse archive of knitting patterns into a single, easy-to-navigate resource, making it accessible for knitters of all skill levels to explore and enjoy.
Here is one from the Bavarian Traveling stitches (and wait until you see that forthcoming collection!) This one is traditionally used as an insertion between more intricate twisted cables, but can also be extremely attractive repeating in multiples for a fantasy ribbing, thanks to the simple variation of twisting the knit column to compact the fabric.
