12 Dominicans Aran Tam

€5.00

My daughter’s apartment building features an 18th-century wrought iron staircase banister that is a testimony to Marseille’s artisanal skill. Concurrent with the days of France’s sea power, it’s not surprising that these design influences stretched to faraway cities such as Beirut, New Orleans, and Montreal. I couldn’t resist recreating this marriage of twists and turns, knots and cables into a traditional Aran style in tribute to centuries of seafaring trade.
